Arthroscopy Association to Conduct Complications Study

The Arthroscopy Association of North America is conducting a six-month long study on complications associated with arthroscopy aimed to collect data similar to those found on joint registries, according to a report in AAOS Now.

Julie A Dodds, MD, chair of AANA’s research committee, is heading the efforts. Interested participants must be board-certified in the United States and perform more than 10 knee and shoulder arthroscopies per month, according to the report.

Data will be collected by an independent research firm, and collection is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2010.
