Here are four things to know:
1. The mild procedure is an outpatient LSS treatment designed to remove the cause of stenosis through a portal the size of a baby aspirin. The procedure does not require implants, general anesthesia or stitches.
2. The two-year randomized controlled Motion study will use patient-reported outcome measures to identify improvements in pain and function. Researchers will measure participants’ activity levels using Fitbit activity trackers.
3. Interventional pain specialist Razmig Haladjian, MD, enrolled the first patient at Michigan Interventional Pain Center in Brownstown. The Motion study is enrolling patients between 50 and 80 years of age.
4. More than 20,000 patients have undergone the mild procedure for LSS.
