UConn faculty recognizes neurosurgeon

Ketan Bulsara, MD, was named the recipient of the 2025 UConn Health Board of Directors Faculty Recognition Award.

Dr. Bulsara joined UConn Health in 2017 and is the inaugural chair of the newly established department of neurosurgery at the UConn School of Medicine, according to an April 8 news release from the university. 

Since his arrival, he has worked to advance neurosurgery’s clinical, research and educational initiatives. In addition, he helped develop and create the Brain and Spine Institute at UConn Health.

Dr. Bulsara is an expert across a wide range of neurological surgical inventions, has published three books and more than 220 peer reviewed articles, the release said.
