Dr. Fric-Shamji’s body was found December 2016 in a wooded area of Ontario, Canada.
Dr. Shamji has been charged with first-degree murder and committing an indignity to human remains, according to CTV News Toronto. Dr. Shamji has been in custody since his arrest and was denied bail in August 2017.
Dr. Shamji is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in downtown Toronto April 6.
