Dr. Carson, a spine surgeon, earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Chattanooga. Dr. Carson also completed a fellowship in spine surgery at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.
