Spinal Resources earned a Notice of Allowability from the United States Patent and Trademark Office to expand the use of its Bezier parametric curve spinal sod system.

The patented system, No. 12,251,133, includes a spinal rod system with different regions separated by a gradual transition region that’s customizable, according to a Jan. 22 news release.

The allowed claims cover the spinal fixation rod that integrates several constant-diameter segments with smooth, tapered transitions across the rod’s entire perimeter. This design helps surgeons avoid stress points associated with traditional sharp-stepped designs.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
