Sacred Heart Hospital Spine Center receives Joint Commission’s Gold Seal — 5 key notes

The Joint Commission gave Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast’s Spine Center the Gold Seal of Approval, according to a NWF Daily News report.

1. The Spine Center provides comprehensive care for spine surgical patients.

 

2. There are board-certified orthopedic surgeons, nurses, social workers and physical and occupational therapists providing care at the center.

 

3. Kornelis Poelstra, MD, is the director of the Spine Center. He leads to the team to provide evidence-based spine surgery.

 

4. The Spine Center includes robotic-guidance for surgical procedures to promote shorter surgical ties, less blood loss, shorter hospital stays and faster recovery.

 

5. The certification was awarded after a rigorous onsite review this past November.
