Here are four things to know:
1. Dr. Simeone is the former chief of neurosurgery at Philadelphia-based Pennsylvania Hospital.
2. In 2008, he opened the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum in Philadelphia, which showcases more than 65 specialty model cars in Dr. Simeone’s collection. Dr. Simeone bought his first racecar in 1970 and is a renowned automotive historian.
3. Classic Car Trust described Dr. Simeone’s collection as featuring “the rarest and most significant race cars ever built,” The Temple News reports. The collection earned an 84.84 ranking out of 100 from Classic Care Trust, a higher score than Ralph Lauren’s and former Walmart chairman S. Robson Walton’s car collections received.
4. According to Dr. Simeone, neurosurgical practice and racing cars are similar in how industry competition has fueled progress. Dr. Simeone’s museum displays his car collection under the theme “The Spirit of Competition.”
“You want to study the winners,” Dr. Simeone told The Temple News. “It’s the winners that have the best stories to tell, and how they succeed is always a part of the story.”
