A woman who suffered complications after having spine surgery won a $3 million settlement, the New Jersey Law Journal reported Aug. 23.

Andrew Chan, MD, of Och Spine at NewYork-Presbyterian and Columbia in New York City, is leveraging artificial intelligence to improve surgeries with personalized spine implants.

Richard DiStefano, MD, a spine surgeon with Syracuse (N.Y.) Orthopedic Specialists, died, syracuse.com reported Aug. 20.
