NASS is collecting responses to its coverage recommendations for “Allograft and Demineralized Bone Matrix for Spinal Fusion” and “Spinal Cord Stimulation.” The comment period opened April 20 and will extend through May 20.

The NASS Coverage Committee conducts literature review and discussions with subject matter experts before developing evidence-based coverage guideline recommendations. The coverage recommendations are designed as a tool for payers as they devise future coverage rules.

“Your thoughtful comments and suggestions are an integral part of the coverage development process and I strongly encourage you to take this opportunity to review and provide feedback on NASS’ recently developed draft coverage recommendations,” wrote NASS President F. Todd Wetzel, MD.

David R. Obrien Jr., MD, directs the organization’s Health Policy Council and John Glaser, MD, and Scott Kreiner, MD, co-chair the NASS Coverage Committee.
