Here are five takeaways:

1. This name update reflects the mission to better serve the general registry population.

2. The database has extended beyond its initial neurosurgical patient enrollees.

3. NeuroPoint Alliance manages the database as a quality improvement program.

4. The registry currently has participating orthopedic surgeons, and is expected to attract those in multispecialty fields.

5. Started in 2012, the database is now the largest spine registry in North America. The registry includes about 30,000 patients from 78 centers, enrolled in either lumbar, cervical spine, cerebrovascular or spinal deformity modules.
