Ramin Rak, MD, a spinal neurosurgeon was elected chief of neurosurgery at Smithtown, N.Y.-based St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center, effective Jan. 1.
The hospital is an affiliate of Catholic Health Services of Long Island. Dr. Rak is a neurosurgeon who has practiced with NSPC Brain & Spine Surgery for nearly 20 years, according to a Dec. 16 news release. His expertise includes spine surgery, adult brain tumors and skull base disease.
In 2020 Dr. Rak was appointed director of neurological trauma at Mount Sinai South Nassau in Oceanside, N.Y. He also was president of the Suffolk County Medical Society and the New York State Neurosurgical Society.
