Hillsdale (Mich.) Spine Center, part of Hillsdale Hospital, completed its first artificial disc replacement, according to a Feb. 3 news release.
Amritraj Loganathan, MD, completed Hillsdale’s first lumbar disc replacement, an alternative to spinal fusion. The hospital is the only one in the surrounding five counties to offer disc replacement.
The debut case was done in December, and the patient has recovered well with significant improvement in pain levels and mobility, the release said.
