Venkat Sethuraman, MD, of Dallas-based Medical City Spine Hospital is the first in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to use Carlsmed’s aprevo implant, according to a Sept. 15 LinkedIn post.

Dr. Sethuraman partnered with Contigo Surgical Solutions to bring aprevo to the hospital, the post said. The aprevo implant uses artificial intelligence and Carlsmed’s proprietary software to create custom implants for spine patients.

In recent months aprevo earned CMS’ New Technology Add-On Payment for cervical spine procedures.
