IncludeHealth names neurosurgeon leader of medical advisory board: 4 notes

Cincinnati-based IncludeHealth tapped John M. Tew, MD, to lead the digital health and wellness company’s medical advisory board.

Here are four things to know:

1. Dr. Tew helped found the board, which is focused on evolving IncludeHealth’s technology in the areas of exercise, nutrition, social connectivity and life purpose.

2. With more than 45 years of medical leadership as a neurosurgeon at Cincinnati-based Mayfield Clinic, Dr. Tew has expertise is cerebrovascular disease, brain tumors, trigeminal neuralgia and Chiari malformations.

3. Dr. Tew serves as a professor at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He is the co-founder of the UC Neuroscience Institute and previous chairman of the university’s neurosurgery department.

4. After earning his medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, N.C., Dr. Tew completed his residency at Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital. He underwent fellowship training in neurosurgery at University of Zurich in Switzerland.
