New York City-based Hospital for Surgery launched The Complex Spine & Scoliosis Center, according to a Jan. 27 news release.
Specialties at the center include anesthesiology, infectious disease, interventional radiology, metabolic bone, neurology, pain management, physical therapy, physiatry and spine surgery. The center is designed to get patients connected with experts faster.
“What makes our new center unique is that we offer a ‘one stop shop’ where a patient can be seen by a surgeon and other experts as needed, get updated imaging and other tests, receive a diagnosis and be given a treatment plan tailored to their specific needs all on the same day,” Han Jo Kim, MD, director of the center, said in the release.
The CSSC at HSS is also leveraging a clinical registry to detect and study genetic indicators of risk for a variety of postoperative complications.
At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
