Florida Hospital Tampa enhances offerings with Brain & Spine Institute: 5 things to know

Florida Hospital Tampa boosted its Neuroscience Institute services to rebrand as the Brain & Spine Institute.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. The new Brain & Spine Institute will treat brain and spine tumors, strokes, seizures, neurological disorders and migraine headaches, in addition to other conditions.

 

2. The hospital hired additional specialists with expertise in treating headaches and back pain.

 

3. Headache and migraine specialist Sandra Pinilla, MD, and orthopedic surgeon Geoffrey Cronen, MD, joined the Brain & Spine Institute.

 

4. Additionally, University of South Florida will add neurosurgeon Jayson Sack, MD, in July. He will treat patients at the university’s practice location at Florida Hospital Tampa.

 

5. Florida Hospital Tampa’s Surgical Reality program is also honing in on spine issues and patient education with its virtual reality 3-D models of patient anatomy.
