American Association of Neurological Surgeons’ Maintenance of Certification Committee honored Victor Kareh, MD, with the Continuing Education Award in Neurosurgery.

 

The Scoliosis Research Society honored two surgeons with the 2017 Whitecloud Award at the Scoliosis Research Society’s 2017 International Meeting on Advanced Spine Techniques in South Africa. Peter Newton, MD, received the clinical award and Sebastien Pesenti, MD, received the basic science award.

 

The American Health Council named Christopher DeMassi, MD, standing medical director of Hollywood, Fla.-based Memorial HealthCare System, to its physician board.

 

Newton-Wellesley (Mass.) Hospital named Louis Jenis, MD, its new chief medical and innovation officer.

 

Kansas City, Mo.-based Saint Luke’s Marion Bloch Neuroscience Institute named Cheerag D. Upadhyaya, MD, a surgical co-director.
