Neurosurgeon Rafeek Woods, MD, joined Lakeland Health in St. Joseph, Mich., according to the Herald Palladium.

Here are four takeaways:

 

1. Dr. Woods completed his minimally invasive and complex spine fellowship at Loma Linda (Calif.) University Medical Center.

 

2. Recently he published his work on biomechanical properties of upper cervical spine injuries in the Neurosurgery journal.

 

3. Dr. Woods earned his medical degree and completed his residency at the Loma Linda University Medical Center. 

 

4. Dr. Woods is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
