Anesthesiologist and pain management physician Richard Sims, MD, earned a Center of Excellence for Intracept designation for his practice.

Dr. Sims is the first surgeon on Florida’s east coast to receive the designation, according to a Jan. 20 news release. He works at The Orthopedic Clinic in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Center of Excellence designations are given to physicians who demonstrate exceptional training, experience and outcomes with Intracept, a minimally invasive spine procedure for lower back pain.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 11-13 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
