1. Although older people often experience spinal arthritis, Dr. Kadimcherla noted younger people may experience it following spinal joint trauma or injury.

 

2. Dr. Kadimcherla said arthritis may lead to bone spurs, which develop from joint-on-joint friction and inflammation.

 

3. Arthritis and bone spurs may cause foraminal and spinal stenosis. He recommends undergoing lumbar foraminotomy to treats these conditions if non-surgical methods don’t relieve pain.

 

4. Lumbar foraminotomy releases pinched nerves by removing disrupting bone or tissue.

 

5. Dr. Kadimcherla completed his orthopedic and neurosurgery spine fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.
