Dr. Neal Kassell named to NCI’s Blue Ribbon Panel for cancer moonshot initiative: 4 notes

Neal F. Kassell, MD, has been selected to serve on the National Cancer Institute’s Blue Ribbon Panel for Vice President Joe Biden’s National Cancer Moonshot Initiative.

Here are four notes:

 

1. Dr. Kassell is a distinguished professor in the department of neurosurgery at University of Virginia in Charlottesville.

 

2. He is the chairman of the Focused Ultrasound Foundation, a nonprofit research, education and advocacy organization focusing on the development and adoption of focused ultrasound.

 

3. The Blue Ribbon Panel will consider how to advance the themes that have been proposed for the moonshot initiative, including the development of cancer vaccines.

 

4. There are currently 28 science and medicine experts serving on the panel.
