Here are five things to know about Dr. Mitamura:

 

1. He performs spinal fusions, epidural steroid injections, decompression, ankle arthroscopy, carpal tunnel release, joint repair and replacements, in addition to other procedures.

 

2. He previously served as chief of orthopedic surgery and then chief of the spinal division at Dobbs Ferry Hospital.

 

3. Dr. Mitamura has practiced for more than 20 years and performs minimally invasive surgeries, balancing his practice between the gold standard and new methods for surgery.

 

4. Dr. Mitamura earned his medical degree at New York Medical College and completed his fellowship in spine surgery at the New York University School of Medicine.

 

5. In addition to his medical degree, Dr. Mitamura obtained a doctor of philosophy degree from New York University.
