Three details:

1. Dr. Sutherland designed the high field intraoperative magnetic resonance imaging system that provides surgeons with 3D MR images during operations. The device has been used to treat over 40,000 patients worldwide.

2. He also created an image-guided robotic system called neuroArm which is the first robot capable of performing neurosurgery on a patient inside an MR machine.

3. NeuroArm aims to make surgeries less invasive and enhance patient care by creating a digital record of procedures, which would help improve patient outcomes and cut healthcare costs.
