Dr. Bassel Diebo named co-director of spine at The Miriam Hospital

Bassel Diebo, MD, will be co-director of the Spine Center at The Miriam Hospital in Providence, R.I., according to a Jan. 28 news release from Brown University Health.

In the role, he will lead efforts to bolster spine care, strengthen collaboration across services and drive quality and safety initiatives. Dr. Diebo’s clinical focus is on posture and spinal alignment. He has expertise in complex spinal conditions including scoliosis, flatback syndrome and hip-spine syndrome.

“I’m honored to join Adetokunbo Oyelese, MD, in leading this exceptional spine-specialized team, from our dedicated anesthesiologists and operating room staff to our inpatient teams, nurse navigator, and program leadership,” Dr. Diebo said in the release. “Patients already travel from across New England for care here, and my goal is to build on that foundation with evidence-based protocols, precision surgical planning, and world-class innovation that positions The Miriam Hospital to compete at the highest level nationwide.”
