Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation appoints 2 former CEOs to advance spinal cord injury research

The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation has appointed Michael Fordyce and Vandy Van Wagener Jr. to its board of directors, according to a Citybizlist reported Aug. 4.

Three things to know:

1. Mr. Fordyce is former president and CEO of Englewood, Colo.-based Craig Hospital, which specializes in spinal cord injury rehabilitation.

2. Mr. Van Wagener served as a director for Craig Hospital and as a Procter & Gamble executive for more than 22 years. He also served as CE of two startups in the healthcare industry.

3. The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation seeks to advance spinal cord injury research and improve the quality of life for individuals and families affected by paralysis.

4. The charity has invested more than $140 million in research labs and provided over $30 million to organizations with Quality of Life grants that provide access, achievement and care within their community.
