Here are five key notes:

1. Orthopedic surgeons Dr. Qixin Zhen and Dr. Sanzhong Xu from China traveled to Texas to observe Dr. West as he performed a minimally invasive spinal procedure.

2. Dr. West used technology from DePuy Synthes on the less invasive procedure.

3. The minimally invasive surgery is less disruptive and designed for tissue preservation and less blood loss. There is also a shorter hospital stay and quicker recovery times.

4. Dr. West has used the DePuy Synthes spine system for eight years.

5. The patient whose surgery Drs. Zhen and Xu observed returned home one day after surgery and is making a full recovery there.
