Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Suguna Pappu of Loyola Medicine

Suguna Pappu, MD, PhD, is a board-certified neurosurgeon at Maywood, Ill.-based Loyola Medicine.

Dr. Pappu specializes in neck and back conditions, hydrocephalus and trauma. She serves as an associate neurosurgery professor at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.

Dr. Pappu received her medical degree from Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn., where she also underwent diagnostic radiology fellowship training. Dr. Pappu holds a doctorate in operations research from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge. Her research involves quantitative methods to evaluate hydrocephalus and radiomics, an emerging field of big-data research.
