Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Richard Lutz of Texas Orthopedics

Richard Lutz, DO, is an orthopedic and spine surgeon at Austin-based Texas Orthopedics.

He has more than 20 years of experience diagnosing, evaluating and treating complex problems of the spine and neck.

His career began after he earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a residency at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, before his fellowship at Carbondale-based Southern Illinois University.

Dr. Lutz is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a diplomat of the National Board of Examiners for Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons.

Outside of his professional life, he enjoys dancing with his wife, playing golf and hiking.
