Dr. Wong specializes in lumbar microsurgery. He serves as Director for the Advanced Center for Spinal Microsurgery at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center.
Dr. Wong received his medical degree from the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine in Ontario, Canada. He underwent spine surgery fellowship training at the University of Toronto Wellesley Hospital.
He holds several leadership positions and served as the president of the North American Spine Society from 2002 to 2003. He is the course chairman for the minimally invasive spine surgery CME courses for NASS and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as the chairman of the AAOS Patient Safety Committee.
Dr. Wong’s research has been published in several peer-reviewed scientific journals. He serves as an associate editor of the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and is on the European Spine Journal editorial advisory board. In his spare time, Dr. Wong enjoys travel and underwater photography.
