Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Carlo Bellabarba of University of Washington Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine

Carlo Bellabarba, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon. He serves as a professor in the orthopedics and neurosurgery departments at the University of Washington in Seattle.

A member of American Medical Association, Dr. Bellabarba is also a part of American Orthopedic Association and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, among other organizations.

 

He serves as the director of the Spine ACE Program at Harborview Medical Center and is a member of the HMC medical staff quality assurance committee. Dr. Bellabarba is also on the editorial board for the Journal of Orthopedic Trauma.

 

Dr. Bellabarba received his medical degree from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. He then completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, and a trauma fellowship at Tampa General Hospital. He also completed a spine fellowship at Northwestern University.
