Dr. Mesiwala joined DISC Sports & Spine Center Feb. 22. His specialties are minimally invasive and microscopic spine surgery, reconstructive spine surgery, and neurosurgery. He’s performed more than 8,000 procedures in a private practice since 2004, and more than 75 percent of his cases are done in an outpatient setting.
He earned his medical degree at the University of California San Francisco and completed his residency in neurological surgery at Seattle-based University of Washington.
Dr. Mesiwala has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters and abstracts, and he’s received honors for his research, including a grant from the American Brain Tumor Association and the National Research Service Award from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.
He’s also a member of several organizations including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, American Medical Association, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, The Pituitary Network, Trigeminal Neuralgia Association and Indian Medical Association.
