Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Mark Kurd of Rothman Institute

Mark F. Kurd, MD, is a spine surgeon at Rothman Institute, serving patients in Bryn Mawr, King of Prussia and Media, all in Pennsylvania. He also serves as an orthopedic surgery assistant professor at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

Dr. Kurd specializes in treating cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine disorders, and his research focuses on degenerative cervical and lumbar conditions and enhancing perioperative pain management.


A member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Kurd is also affiliated with the North American Spine Society, Lumbar Spine Research Society and American Orthopaedic Association.


After earning his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, Dr. Kurd completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, both in Philadelphia. He then completed his spine surgery fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
