Chad Campion, MD, of Germantown, Tenn.-based Campbell Clinic Orthopaedics, is thinking ahead about the next cohort of endoscopic spine surgeons.

In 2025 he launched a first-of-its kind endoscopic spine surgery fellowship for post-fellowship or practicing orthopedic spine surgeons. The three-month training has a focus on outpatient spine surgery.

“Most of what I do is at the surgery center, and almost all of my endoscopic surgeries at the surgery center,” Dr. Campion said. “Fellows get an outpatient and ASC experience as well. It’s really a graduated fellowship where for the first case or two they’re mostly observing me. Then they start to do more and more portions of the procedure.”

Dr. Campion earned his medical degree from Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School and completed his residency at UT-Campbell Clinic.

Dr. Campion is speaking at Becker’s 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, set for June 11-13 at the Swissotel Chicago.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
