Zimmer Biomet names industry veteran as orthopedics president — 4 key insights

Zimmer Biomet appointed Ivan Tornos as group president of orthopedics, effective Nov. 1.

1. In this newly created position, Mr. Tornos will be responsible for Zimmer Biomet’s orthopedics group, which includes its large joint, sports, extremities and trauma businesses as well as the Americas region.

2. Before joining Zimmer Biomet, Mr. Tornos served as the worldwide president of the global urology/medical and critical care division of Becton, Dickinson and Co..

3. He brings more than 20 years of experience in various global roles at Fortune 50 to 500 companies.

4. Zimmer Biomet operates in more than 25 countries worldwide and sells products in more than 100 nations.
