Here are five notes:

1. The OSS Orthopedic Salvage System is a set of joint reconstruction prostheses.

2. The system is intended to treat patients suffering from bone loss due to tumor resection, ligamentous deficiencies and orthopedic trauma, among other causes.

3. The system uses OsseoTi, a proprietary porous metal technology that is designed to mimic cancellous bone architecture and promote biologic fixation through tissue ingrowth.

4. The enhancements to the system include:

•    Modern implant designs for the distal femur and diaphysis
•    Small diameter splined stems
•    New implant components created with OsseoTi Porous Metal Technology

5. Zimmer Biomet  first introduced the system in 2000.
