Orthofix realigns spine leadership

Orthofix has eliminated the president of global spine solutions as part of realignment efforts, the company said April 9.

Key spine leaders will now report directly to Orthofix CEO Massimo Calafiore, according to a news release. The realignment is designed to accelerate decision-making, sharpen leadership accountability, and further advance commercialization of the 7D spine navigation platform.

Three key leadership notes:

1. Shaeffer Bannigan, senior vice president of global spine took on an expanded role as leader of spinal solutions and oversees spine strategy, commercial operations and portfolio innovation.

2. Mark Sienkiewicz, vice president of U.S. sales will continue leading spine implant commercial execution with a priority on distributor expansion and onboarding.

3. John Winge, vice president of spine commercial strategy, will drive commercial strategies to accelerate 7D Flash adoption.

Orthofix also reported preliminary, unaudited first quarter net sales of $196.7 million, including sales from the discontinued M6 disc.
