Eight notes:
1. Zimmer Biomet and Bactiguard have expanded their global license partnership that was initiated in 2019. The extended license covers implants for joint reconstruction, sports medicine, craniomaxillofacial and thoracic applications.
2. Zimmer Biomet’s spine and dental spinoff, ZimVie, completed its separation on schedule March 1.
3. Zimmer Biomet’s WalkAI tool for postoperative recovery was launched. WalkAI uses an artificial intelligence model to identify patients who may have a lower gait speed 90 days after hip or knee surgery. It is the devicemaker’s first AI-based software and integrates with the Mymobility care management platform.
4. Zimmer Biomet has cemented a multiyear partnership with Biocomposites to exclusively distribute its Genex bone graft substitute in the U.S.
5. Zimmer Biomet appointed Paul Stellato as vice president, controller and chief accounting officer.
