Zimmer Biomet hands baton to Bryan Hanson as new president, CEO — 5 highlights

Zimmer Biomet named Bryan C. Hanson its new president and CEO, effective today.

Here are five highlights:

 

1. Mr. Hanson will also serve as a board of directors’ member.

 

2. With more than two decades of medical device industry experience, Mr. Hanson previously served on Medtronic’s executive committee and as executive vice president and president of Medtronic’s Minimally Invasive Therapies Group.

 

3. Before Medtronic, Mr. Hanson was group president of Covidien’s medical devices business.

 

4. Mr. Hanson takes on the roles from Daniel P. Florin, who began serving as interim CEO July 11. Mr. Florin will return to his position as senior vice president and CFO.

 

5. David Dvorak stepped down from his role as CEO of Zimmer Biomet in July after a 10-year tenure.
