Mr. Upadhyay has held his leadership positions at Zimmer Biomet since July 2019, according to a May 18 news release. He previously worked at medtech companies including Bristol Myers Squibb, Endo International and Johnson & Johnson.
His appointment brings Vertex’s board of directors to 11 members, the release said. Vertex is a biotechnology company focused on treatments for conditions including cystic fibrosis, type 1 diabetes and sickle cell disease.
