Zimmer Announces First Implantation of its NCB Periprostetic Plating System

Zimmer Holdings announced the first implantation of the NCB Periprosthetic Plating System, used to address complex femoral fractures around hip or knee implants, according to a company news release.

The system’s wide plates and narrow screws are designed to address fixation and poor bone quality in patients with periprosthetic fractures. The bicortical screws can be placed within a 30 degree polyazial cone and secured at any time intraoperatively using locking caps.

The system is fully compatible with the cables and cable buttons of the Zimmer Cable-Ready System for added flexibility.
