The Varisync ALIF system provides anchor fixation in fewer operative steps and allows for simultaneous deployment of three pre-loaded anchors, according to a news release. It can be an alternative to screw fixation, which can be challenging in some patient anatomy.

The ALIF system is made with Zavation’s patented 3D printed Mimetic metal technology and comes in three standard footprints.

Hanbing Zhou, MD, of the Bone & Joint Institute at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Conn., performed the first case with the system in August.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
