The company has agreed to extend the term of its DPA for 12 months, and it will expire on Sept. 29, 2012. The USAO agreed not to take additional action regarding the breach of the DPA referenced in the letter earlier this year. The company and the OIG have agreed to an amendment to the Corporate Integrity Agreement, which will begin on Sept. 29, 2012 and expire three years later.
Since the letter, the company has taken steps to enhance its compliance and commitment to high standards of ethical conduct. This past year, there has been a series of executive changes, including CEO changes, which may or may not have been related to the ongoing compliance investigation.
