VySpine cervical spine plate earns FDA clearance

VySpine’s VyPlate anterior cervical plate system received FDA 510(k) clearance, the devicemaker said Aug. 16.

The device is cleared for stabilization of the anterior cervical spine from C2 to C7, according to a news release. It has plates and screws manufactured from titanium alloy and comes in multiple sizes.

VyPlate’s bone screws can be variable or at a fixed angle to the plate. Screws are available in self-drilling or self-tapping configurations, the release said.
