VTI’s spinal deformity poster presented at ISASS — 5 things to know

William Lavelle, MD, presented a Vertebral Technologies poster at this year’s annual International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery meeting.

Here are five things to know:

 

1. Dr. Lavelle, of East Syracuse, N.Y.-based Upstate Orthopedics, reported on a modular large footprint interbody’s impact on ASD.

 

2. The demand for surgical solutions providing relief from ASD-caused pain and disability is rising among the aging population.

 

3. Dr. Lavelle’s poster was titled “A Modular Large Footprint Interbody in Adult Spinal Deformity Patients.”

 

4. Back and leg pain decreases substantially one year after the large footprint posterior placed interbody devices are utilized, according to Dr. Lavelle.

5. ISASS was held in Boca Raton, Fla., from April 12 to April 14.
