VGI Medical launches lateral interbody fusion system: 4 takeaways

VGI Medical launched the VerteLP Lateral Interbody Fusion System.

Here are four takeaways:

 

1. VerteLP was designed to combat insufficient implant fixation and pedicle screw interference. Additionally, the system’s bilateral plate fixation limits axial rotation and lateral bending.

 

2. VGI Medical’s fixation system is designed for minimally invasive procedures, decreasing operating room time and reducing the number of surgical steps and instruments required to insert the implant.

 

3. VerteLP lateral plating fixation does not comprise endplates or vertebral bodies and does not interfere with the placement of pedicle screws in primary cases or at adjacent levels.

 

4. VGI Medical will present VerteLP at the upcoming 2017 North American Spine Society annual meeting, along with the company’s SIJoin Direct Posterior Fusion and VerteLoc Posterolateral Fusion.
