UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, Carestream conduct clinical trials for new 3D imaging system

Buffalo, N.Y.-based UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine and Carestream are conducting clinical studies on a new 3D medical imaging system at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo.

The system is a new cone beam CT system, which uses less radiation than traditional CT. It will be used for treating orthopedic conditions. Physicians from UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine are working with Carestream researchers to explore the benefits of using the technology for imaging patient extremities.
