The porous-coated stem facilitates device fixation to bone without bone cement in patients for whom fixation with bone cement may be problematic. The Affiniti Stem was also designed to reduce bone loss if the patient requires revision surgery in the future. Tornier’s Affiniti shoulder product line was first launched in 2008.
