Surgalign Holdings acquires equity interest in AI company

Surgalign Holdings acquired equity interest in Interneural Networks, whose artificial intelligence technology identifies possible pathological states.

The deal will integrate Interneural Networks’ technologies and bring its machine learning and AI to Surgalign’s Holo surgical platform, according to a Jan. 5 news release.

Surgalign Holdings entered a strategic collaboration with Interneural Networks in June. On Dec. 30, Surgalign Holdings acquired 42 percent of outstanding equity of Interneural Networks for $21 million.
