In 2010, Stryker received subpoenas from the U.S. Department of Justice regarding the OtisKnee. The subpoena filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission regarded regulatory matters related to the sales and marketing of the devices.

The OtisKnee device was manufactured by OtisMed, which Stryker acquired in 2009. The federal government has yet to accept the offer.
